GETTING STARTED
-
Atlantic offers a development pathway for athletes of different ages and experience levels. Tiny Turtles (ages 4–8) introduces young children to volleyball through movement and fun. Atlantic Juniors (ages 9–12) focuses on fundamentals, confidence, and team development. Atlantic Performance (ages 13–18) provides advanced training and competitive opportunities. Not sure where your athlete belongs? Our coaching staff is happy to help you find the right fit!
-
Not at all! We welcome athletes at all stages of their volleyball journey. Tiny Turtles is specifically designed for beginners, while our Skill Labs, camps, and training opportunities help athletes develop at their own pace. Some competitive team programs do require evaluations or previous experience.
-
It's never too late to start! Our Skill Labs, camps, and private training offer opportunities for older beginners to develop foundational skills and build confidence. Depending on their age and readiness, Atlantic Juniors may also be a good option. Contact us and we'll help you determine the best starting point.
-
No! Atlantic Training Center offers year-round training opportunities that are open to athletes who are not currently on an Atlantic club team. These include Skill Labs, camps, clinics, and private or small-group training. Each opportunity has its own age and experience requirements.
-
Possibly! Enrollment depends on the program, available space, and the athlete's experience level. Some programs allow athletes to join during an active session, while others require enrollment at the beginning of a season. Please contact us to discuss current availability.
-
Tiny Turtles is our introductory volleyball program for children ages 4–8. Through fun, age-appropriate activities, athletes develop coordination, balance, movement skills, and confidence while learning the basics of volleyball. Sessions run for 10 weeks, and absolutely no previous volleyball experience is necessary!
-
Atlantic Juniors is our developmental team program for athletes ages 9–12. The program builds volleyball fundamentals, communication, teamwork, and game confidence in a supportive team environment. Athletes are introduced to structured practices and opportunities to experience volleyball competition as they prepare for the next level.
-
Atlantic Performance is our advanced club volleyball pathway for athletes ages 13–18 who are ready for a higher level of training and competition. Athletes develop their technical skills, game strategy, physical performance, and competitive mindset through structured team training and tournament play. Team placement is determined through evaluations.
-
Skill Labs are focused, high-repetition training sessions designed to help athletes improve specific volleyball skills. Labs may focus on serving, passing, setting, attacking, blocking, or defense. They provide additional opportunities to develop technique, build confidence, and receive individualized coaching outside regular team practices.
-
Atlantic Training Center offers a variety of camps and clinics throughout the year, including Schools-Out Camps, Holiday Break Camps, Summer Camps, and Advanced Summer Mini Camps. Our programs combine volleyball instruction, movement, competition, and fun in an encouraging environment. Offerings vary by age, skill level, and season.
-
Yes! We offer individual and small-group training designed around each athlete's goals and developmental needs. Private lessons provide focused coaching for athletes looking to improve specific skills, gain confidence, or prepare for upcoming evaluations and competition. Visit our Training page to explore available opportunities.
PROGRAMS + TRAINING
-
Evaluations are required for placement on certain competitive and performance teams. They allow our coaching staff to assess each athlete's current skills, experience, and readiness for different training environments. Introductory programs, camps, and many Skill Labs do not require tryouts. Individual program pages will indicate any evaluation requirements.
-
Athletes are placed according to age, skill development, experience, and readiness for the demands of each program. Our goal is to create balanced training environments where athletes are appropriately challenged, supported, and given opportunities to continue improving.
-
Practice schedules and tournament commitments vary by program and team level. Atlantic Juniors introduces athletes to structured team training and competition, while Atlantic Performance generally involves a greater practice and travel commitment. Specific schedules, tournaments, and expectations are provided before the season begins.
-
Playing time is determined by the coaching staff and may vary based on the program, team needs, athlete development, and competitive situations. Equal playing time is not guaranteed on competitive teams. We are committed to athlete development and encourage open communication about individual progress and expectations.
-
Club tuition typically covers scheduled team practices, coaching, tournament entry fees, and designated team apparel or equipment packages. Exact inclusions vary by program. Travel expenses, hotels, meals, and other personal costs may not be included. Families receive detailed program pricing and inclusions before registering.
